Norman Martinen

Teaching Professional

“Coach Norm” (as his high school girls refer him as), started his tennis career at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, NH debuting on the school’s first inaugural boy’s tennis team. His tennis playing continued on a limited basis while serving two tours of duty in the Army.

After becoming certified with USPTA (United States Professional Association in 2005, Coach Norm started his professional teaching career here at GBAC. In 2007 Norm accepted the position as Girls Head Tennis Coach for York High School where he just completed his 12th season. In 2010 he accepted the position as Tennis Director/Instructor for the York Parks and Recreation Department. Also, in 2010 Norm relocated from teaching at GBAC over to The Wentworth Country Club in Rye, NH.

Coach Norm’s philosophy in his teaching is quite simple, “Always have fun on the courts!" Ask anyone who’s participated in any of Coach Norm’s clinics or lesson and they would confirm just that. “If you happen to hear laughter illuminating from the courts, it’s probably coming from one of my clinics”.

Zoltan Koncz

Teaching Professional

​Zoltan (Zoli) teaches all levels of play at SSC-Great Bay. He has several clinics on the schedule for both junior and adults and he serves as a coach for many 3.5 and 4.0 SSC-Great Bay USTA women's teams.  He offers private lessons as well as group lessons.  You may contact Zoltan directly via email, to book lessons (private or group) and clinics.

Kris Elien

Teaching Professional

Kris is a US-Professional Tennis Registry (PTR) certified Master of Tennis in Performance Development, endorsed by the National Standards for Sports Coaches at the highest level (Level 5) 

in 10 and under (U-10), Performance (tournament players) and Adult Development. You can find Kris as a featured instructor in all three of SSC-Great Bay programs—U-10, junior and adult clinics.


Before teaching, Kris played Division 1 tennis at Jackson State University and competed on the Pro Circuit/ATP Tour as a ranked singles players for nine year. Kris represented his native U.S. Virgin Island on the Davis Cup team where he was selected as team captain and played for four years.

Brian Beck

Teaching Professional

​Certified PTA with over 20 years coaching experience.  Dover High School Social Studies Teacher.  Boys varsity tennis coach at Dover High School.  Experienced with kids from diversified backgrounds.  Has coached internationally for the past 6 summers.  Comfortable teaching kids and adults with a variety of tennis levels.  One-on-One class or Group lessons available.

Barry Caron 

Teaching Professional

Anyone who knows Barry knows Barry is a great coach.  Barry has the ability to connect with players to get the best outcome. He believes clinics, and practices should be run at a fast pace, be informative, and players should be kept moving.


With a coaching background in college, club, junior leagues, and elite training, Barry has held various teaching professional and tennis director positions at Abenaqui Country Club, Seacoast Indoor Tennis Club, and The Racquet Club of Newburyport.


In 1999, he developed a successful junior tennis program which is considered one of the best north of Boston. Barry understands both sides of the player-coach relationship. He himself is an experienced tennis player, and former New Hampshire State Champion. Barry continues to coach junior players as well as several United States Tennis Association adult teams, and he still plays competitively as a top rated player and a member of the North Shore Open League.


Anthony Sillitta

Teaching Professional

Anthony has been teaching tennis for more than twenty years. He started his coaching career in the 1990's as the assistant coach of the University of New Hampshire Division 1 women’s tennis program. In 2001 he was named Executive Tennis Director and Head Coach for both the men's and women's teams and was responsible for coaching, scouting, and budgeting both Division 1 programs.


Anthony has worked with several great coaches including former Harvard Head Coach & Women’s Tennis Association coach Ed Krass.  Coach Sillitta has shared a teaching court with head coaches from some of the nation’s top tennis programs like Virginia Tech, West Virginia University, Oklahoma State, and head coach Chuck Kriese from Clemson University.


Today, Anthony continues to conduct private and group lessons, coaches SSC-Great Bay USTA adult teams, and is the head coach of the Portsmouth High School boy’s tennis team.
