Norman Martinen

Teaching Professional

“Coach Norm” (as his high school girls refer him as), started his tennis career at Winnacunnet High School in Hampton, NH debuting on the school’s first inaugural boy’s tennis team. His tennis playing continued on a limited basis while serving two tours of duty in the Army.

After becoming certified with USPTA (United States Professional Association in 2005, Coach Norm started his professional teaching career here at GBAC. In 2007 Norm accepted the position as Girls Head Tennis Coach for York High School where he just completed his 12th season. In 2010 he accepted the position as Tennis Director/Instructor for the York Parks and Recreation Department. Also, in 2010 Norm relocated from teaching at GBAC over to The Wentworth Country Club in Rye, NH.

Coach Norm’s philosophy in his teaching is quite simple, “Always have fun on the courts!" Ask anyone who’s participated in any of Coach Norm’s clinics or lesson and they would confirm just that. “If you happen to hear laughter illuminating from the courts, it’s probably coming from one of my clinics”.

You can check out Norms “Tennis Menu” regarding his upcoming clinics. Private lessons are also available.  To book with Norm please email him directly at: nhsta@comcast.net
