GBAC TENNIS COURTS REOPENING

Great Bay Athletic Club is excited to WELCOME BACK our tennis community by announcing that we will be reopening our four indoor tennis courts on Wednesday, September 2nd.

Because we are still operating under limited "pandemic" hours, court reservations will initially be limited to when the front desk is staffed.  Please see hours on the home page of www.GBACNH.com.

We are committed to making our club the safest and healthiest place to play tennis and exercise in NH. Protecting the health and wellbeing of our staff and members is always our number one priority.

Working closely with the USTA safety guidelines as a baseline, we established an internal tennis re-opening advisory board consisting of members that represent the medical field, state government, USPTA tennis teaching professionals and tennis players to develop the following set of safety and health policies and procedures that we will enforce to ensure the club is a safe place to play. Players will be required to comply with these policies when using the facility, and to be aware of the following changes:

  • You will be required to bring or sign an executed waiver and release each day you come to the club.

  • Masks must be worn in the facility while entering and exiting. Masks may only be removed while playing on court.

  • Do not play if you are exhibiting any symptoms of the coronavirus as identified by the CDC; are awaiting COVID-19 test results; or have been in contact with someone with COVID-19 in the last 14 days.

  • All common touch points must be sprayed by players prior to vacating your court (chairs; net tops, etc.); sanitizer spray will be available on each court. Plan and end your play with enough time before the court bell rings to allow time for sanitizing. Vacate your court immediately upon hearing the bell.

  • All common touch points will be sanitized by the staff at least every 2 hours.

  • All score cards have been taken off the courts.

  • Hand sanitizers will be available outside the entrance to each court.

  • Shower areas and sauna in locker rooms are closed.

  • Restrooms are open and will be cleaned regularly by staff.

  • Tennis lounge area is closed for social gatherings.

  • Change shoes at physically distanced chairs or in your car before entering the facility.

  • Bring a filled water bottle from home as all water fountains are closed.

  • Arrive as close as possible to when you need to be on court (allowing enough time to sign/submit a waiver); but not to exceed 10 minutes to avoid too many players waiting to enter the courts.

  • Avoid using your hands to touch court curtains, coaching equipment, ball carts, etc.

  • Court start times will be staggered when possible to minimize the number of players entering and exiting the courts at the same time.

  • You will be required to wait in the lounge (physically distanced) until all players have vacated your court. Waiting outside the courts behind the curtains is prohibited.

  • When entering and exiting your court, please maintain at least 6 feet of physical distance between you and the players on your court and players exiting the other courts.

  • Please vacate your court immediately upon hearing the bell.

  • Cash walk-on rates and cash payments are not being accepted at this time; court reservations must be made online or by calling ahead 603-659-3151. Online Court Reservations

  • Only one parent/guardian may accompany younger children to the facility for clinics (parental consent form must be provided to the front desk prior to playing).

When Playing:

  • Do not make physical contact with other players (such as shaking hands or sharing a high five).

  • Avoid touching your face after handling a ball, racquet or other equipment. Wash or sanitize your hands promptly if you have touched your eyes, nose or mouth.

  • Avoid sharing drinks or towels.

  • Stay on your side of the court. Avoid changing ends of the court.

  • Remain apart from other players when taking a break.

After Playing:

  • Wear a face mask and leave the court as soon as reasonably possible; maintaining 6’ distancing

  • Wash your hands using a hand sanitizer after coming off the court.

  • Do not use the locker room or changing area.

  • No extra-curricular or social activity should take place. No congregation after playing.

  • All players should leave the facility immediately after play (Masks must be worn when off the court and inside the building).

Additional Safety Measures in Place:

  • The club has two airPHX sports machines installed and running in the club. Visit https://www.airphx.com/ to learn how safe you will be when you return.
